A leading FMCG manufacturer with 15 sites across the UK is looking to recruit a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer for its busy Thurgarton, Nottinghamshire facility.

This is a hands-on role in a heavy, industrial environment with older machinery—perfect for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and tackling real mechanical and electrical issues.


As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you'll join a dedicated and experienced team that plays a critical role in keeping production moving at one of the company's most important locations.


Key Responsibilities:


As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will:



  • Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding, maintenance, and repairs

  • Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime

  • Work with older plant and equipment including pumps, hydraulics, gearboxes, valves, and generators

  • Conduct PLC fault finding and diagnostics

  • Assist with planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement projects


Skills & Experience Required:


The ideal Electrical Maintenance Engineer will have:



  • Strong electrical and mechanical multi-skilling

  • Experience working in heavy industry or FMCG environments

  • Confidence with PLC fault finding (any brand experience welcome)

  • Comfort working with older equipment in a tough environment

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering

  • Time-served apprenticeship preferred

  • 17th Edition (18th Edition preferred and highly desirable)
