Position Summary:
Carboline is seeking an EH&S Specialist located at our manufacturing facility in Lake Charles, LA. This person would be responsible for implementing and managing the environmental, health, safety, security, and emergency response programs for the local production and distribution facility.
We are looking for a dynamic trainer and behavior-based safety implementer for this facility.
This position will involve spending a lot of time on the production floor interacting with employees and supervisors identifying improvements in best practices and improving safety within processes.
PSM experience, hazardous waste management and someone that has worked within a Chemical processing facility is preferred.
Requirements:
Minimum of a BS degree in a safety, regulatory, or chemical related discipline or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in safety, regulatory, and/or chemical fields.
Proven experience as safety manager.
Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.
Experience in data analysis and risk assessment.
Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires some physical activity including but not limited to standing/kneeling/walking/sitting on concrete for approximately 50% of workday.
This position could also require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day.
Lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to dust and chemicals including but not limited to: Amines, Polyamides, Isocyanates, Epoxies, Alkyds, Acrylics, and certain inorganic compounds.
Personal protective equipment would be utilized.
This position will require travel by air and/or car including nighttime and overnight up to 25% of the time.
Essential Functions:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal EH&S regulations including written programs, record keeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, and training.
Maintain compliance with environmental regulations (Title40CFR) including specifically, but not limited to:
Solid and Hazardous Waste management and disposal
Clean Air Act compliance
Clean Water Act compliance
Emergency Response
Pollution Prevention Planning and Control
Establish local EH&S goals and objectives along with the timely and accurate reporting mechanisms.
Coordinate the investigation of incidents (including near misses and losses) and accidents to determine root causes and assist in the development of corrective and preventive action plans.
Serve as the site liaison to local emergency response providers.
Develop and conduct environmental, safety and health training programs to ensure employee's knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Serve as Facility Security Officer to implement and maintain facility security requirements as required by the Department of Homeland Security.
Conduct EH&S reviews for new product development, facility modification, product manufacturing modifications and new equipment/machinery installations per the OSHA PSM standard.
Create and update compliance-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job hazard analysis (JHAs).
Administer and monitor industrial hygiene sampling and communicate exposure information and/or personal protective equipment requirements to employees.
Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
Maintain the health & safety statistics database.
Provide coaching and support to employees, supervision, and management to proactively address safety, health, and environmental risks and concerns.
Initiate or assist in efforts to continuously improve the overall working environment in the facility.
Provide technical assistance, training, and work direction to colleagues in other departments.
Analyze problems, identifying alternative solutions, and implementing recommendations in support of the Company safety goals and objectives.
Identify potential or actual areas of non-compliance through regular auditing and inspections and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
Review and develop profiles for classification of hazardous waste.
Responsible for timely disposal of process waste and waste finished goods.
Provide support to the Corporate Director of EH&S.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Commit to the Company's safety and quality programs.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Hands-on leader to oversee and manage a team of assembly workers to ensure efficient, high-quality production of EIFS panels while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Demonstrate ownership and accountability for developing, growing, and continuously improving a strategic value stream to meet sales demand and volume expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and manage daily work/production schedules, allocate resources, and manage the workflow to ensure efficiency, timely completion of orders, and adherence to production targets.
Lead Tier 1 meetings and support Tier 2/3 meetings daily/weekly.
Plan and schedule production runs based on customer demand and agreed upon delivery dates.
Prepare and coordinate front-end set-up and planning to ensure smooth operations to meet daily production targets.
Monitor the assembly process and workflow as well as staging and packaging to identify potential issues, resolve production problems, address employee questions, and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and meet quality specifications.
Recommend capital investments to automate processes.
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and set-up of production equipment to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
Work with Quality Control to conduct quality checks on completed panels to validate tolerances and specifications.
Ensure proper staging and packaging to minimize damage.
Review daily production records, identify trends, and evaluate employee performance.
Lead and motivate assembly workers, providing guidance and support on the floor side by side with the assembly team.
Oversee and guide employees in their daily tasks, including training, delegating tasks, and ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures including those regarding safety.
Train new employees and document and provide guidance on new processes and/or equipment.
Communicate with other departments and key personnel, customer service, operations, shipping, procurement, etc.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly with proven supervisory skill and experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality control, and production management.
Minimum of 2 years construction or trades experience - plastering, troweling, painting, or other application technology preferred.
Experience safely and effectively using hand tools.
Experience with CNC equipment, preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Quality assurance or manufacturing management certifications preferred.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of assembly line operations and basic construction management.
Ability to read blueprints and technical designs, and translate to production assembly processes.

JOB PURPOSE:
As a Flooring Specialist, your main focus will be to build and maintain strong, effective customer relationships in the resinous concrete coatings industry by acting as the principal contact with concrete floor coating contractors and distributors focused in Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro and Columbia.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grow overall flooring business by working with contractors & suppliers. Identify concrete coating contractors and develop strong relationships with key contacts. Work with team members to grow and develop flooring distribution business. Maintain regular contact with customers to understand needs and to identify business opportunities. Facilitate product recommendations, application, performance and color. Provide timely and accurate customer quotations and work with corporate team for specification writing. Work with the Rust-Oleum credit department to manage customer accounts. Manage territory budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous Resinous or Industrial Concrete Coatings Flooring Industry Experience is required (sales & installing) Must currently reside in the assigned territory and be able to travel 40-50% of the time. Must possess a valid Driver's License and have maintained a motor vehicle record within acceptable limits as prescribed by Rust-Oleum. Periodic evening and weekend hours required for Co-Op Shows and customer events. Must possess exceptional follow-up skills. Demonstrated problem-solving skills - dealing with customer complaints in a timely manner to identify appropriate solutions. Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in a written or oral format. Requires appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively analyze a customer's business and successfully communicate how our products and services can meet and/or exceed their needs. Ability to understand pricing, calculate discounts, and profit associated with selling price; ability to calculate commissions associated with territory performance. Ability to analyze territory performance reports and develop sales territory business plans. Ability to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and write reports to communicate the information. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and various Internet applications. This position requires a high energy individual, who is customer oriented and self-motivated. Target Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000, bonus eligible

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Hands-on leader to oversee and manage a team of assembly workers to ensure efficient, high-quality production of EIFS panels while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Demonstrate ownership and accountability for developing, growing, and continuously improving a strategic value stream to meet sales demand and volume expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and manage daily work/production schedules, allocate resources, and manage the workflow to ensure efficiency, timely completion of orders, and adherence to production targets.
Lead Tier 1 meetings and support Tier 2/3 meetings daily/weekly.
Plan and schedule production runs based on customer demand and agreed upon delivery dates.
Prepare and coordinate front-end set-up and planning to ensure smooth operations to meet daily production targets.
Monitor the assembly process and workflow as well as staging and packaging to identify potential issues, resolve production problems, address employee questions, and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and meet quality specifications.
Recommend capital investments to automate processes.
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and set-up of production equipment to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
Work with Quality Control to conduct quality checks on completed panels to validate tolerances and specifications.
Ensure proper staging and packaging to minimize damage.
Review daily production records, identify trends, and evaluate employee performance.
Lead and motivate assembly workers, providing guidance and support on the floor side by side with the assembly team.
Oversee and guide employees in their daily tasks, including training, delegating tasks, and ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures including those regarding safety.
Train new employees and document and provide guidance on new processes and/or equipment.
Communicate with other departments and key personnel, customer service, operations, shipping, procurement, etc.
to facilitate seamless workflow and address concerns to ensure customer expectations are understood and relevant information is shared and communicated to enhance overall customer satisfaction.
Prepare production reports and maintain records.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and labor laws.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, industrial manufacturing, engineering or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly with proven supervisory skill and experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality control, and production management.
Minimum of 2 years construction or trades experience - plastering, troweling, painting, or other application technology preferred.
Experience safely and effectively using hand tools.
Experience with CNC equipment, preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Quality assurance or manufacturing management certifications preferred.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of assembly line operations and basic construction management.
Ability to read blueprints and technical designs, and translate to production assembly processes.
Ability to take and record accurate measurements.
Proven ability to plaster, trowel, paint, or other accurately apply coatings.

Work with stakeholders to develop white papers and talking points and refine the message to public agencies, legislators, and support organizations.
Research and composing such documents in support of cooperative purchasing.
Work with Sales representatives to understand the issues at hand, for the representatives to explain the proposed legislative changes and how they will impact their customers.
Work with Cooperative contract holders to educate their executive directors and members on the impact of proposed legislation.
Develop email and calling information for representatives, internal employees, and others to use when calling their senators and House/Assembly members in their states.
Review all the messaging with representatives and lobbyists.
Work with organizations, associations, other facility vendors, and trade organizations in message development.
Attend all local lobbyist meetings via Teams.
Attend key legislative meetings with the cooperative team in person or via Teams. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree in Political Science or any other legal field of study.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in legislative or governmental affairs in either the private or public sector.
Experience working in a senior legislative capacity for a majority State Senator, lower House Member, or Majority Caucus, or in a senior policy and/or legislative capacity for an Executive Cabinet department.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline. Preferred, 3+ years of on-the-job experience in leading and implementing EH&S programs in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated subject-matter expertise and knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Prior experience working with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
