MOT Tester/Technician, Weston-Super-Mare
Resolve Recruitment are working with Weston-Super-Mare's leading independent garage for all vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Our client now seeks an experienced qualified MOT tester/ technician with a can-do attitude to join their busy workshop team.
The role;
Conduct MOT tests on vehicles in compliance with DVSA standards
Identify and report any vehicle defects or issues
Perform necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure vehicles meet MOT requirements
Keep accurate records of tests and results
Maintain a clean and organised work area
Work to a high standard and delivering jobs on time
Hours: 5 days a week from 8:30am until 5:30pm and 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (day in lieu)
The person;
Essential: 2 years minimum experience in an MOT Tester / Service Technician role
Essential: Qualified IMI/NVQ Level 3 Light Vehicle Repair & Maintenance
Essential: MOT Level 4 qualified
You must have full UK driving licence and your own tools
MOT Level 7 qualification is highly desirable
Good skills in diagnostics, able to carry out jobs such as cambelt , timing chains, clutches as well as servicing and normal garage repairs on all makes of cars and vans
Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
Excellent team player
Good customer service abilities

This is NOT a trainee role, to be considered for this role you must be currently working in an accident repair centre in an identical role or have done so in the last 3 years.
You must have working experience of Audatex (or similar estimating software) and ideally hold an ATA VDA.
Key role and responsibilities as an Estimator / Vehicle Damage Assessor:
- You will undertake the inspection of accident damaged vehicles, assessing the full extent of the damage, costs of repair and time frames.
- You will ensure our work providers menu pricing schedules and repair methodologies and key information for each contract is being adhered too on each job.
- You will work within our guidelines to ensure that the workflow volume meets targets.
- Use computerised estimating systems.
- Liaise regularly with insurance and accident management companies with any updates or queries relating to relevant jobs.
