You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers
This is an excellent care home which offers high-quality residential care, specialist dementia care, and short-term respite care in a purpose-built setting
As the Maintenance Worker your key duties include:
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the home, including minor repairs, decorating and general upkeep
Help develop and follow a planned preventative maintenance schedule in line with the Property Handbook
Maintain gardens, lawns, paths and outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, tidy and well-presented
Monitor and maintain heating, water systems, lighting and other mechanical and electrical equipment, keeping accurate records
Test fire alarms, carry out fire safety checks and support compliance with health & safety requirements
Liaise with the Home Manager and external contractors to arrange servicing, repairs and inspections
Assist with risk assessments and ensure hazards are identified and addressed promptly
Support the safe movement of furniture and equipment, following manual handling guidance
Attend training, supervision, appraisals and staff meetings as required
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
Previous relevant maintenance experience (essential)
Practical skills in general maintenance and/or gardening
A recognised trade qualification (e.g.
City & Guilds in plumbing, joinery, electrical or decorating) - desirable
Good communication and listening skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A flexible approach to work, including occasional travel or out-of-hours attendance when required
Sensitivity to the needs of older people and a commitment to quality service
The successful Maintenance Worker will receive an excellent salary of £14.09 per hour and the annual salary is £29,307.20 per annum.
This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 40 hours a week.

Conduct repairs servicing and maintenance as directed by the Operations Manager/ Warehouse Manager/ Line Manager.Process all associated paperwork concerning repairs and servicing accurately on a daily basis.Ensure all warranty and scrap returns are labelled correctly and collated at the end of each day.Ensure infection control policy is followed at all times.Undertake Engineering work in terms of service and repairs, and refurbishment in accordance to prescription builds – Training will be providedAssist in clinical appointments with healthcare professionals, for any repairs and servicing requirements.Undertake Admin duties as required.Ensure all parts used are allocated from Stores through Stores process.Strict adherence to Ross Care’s operational procedures.Adhere to the House Keeping procedure.Maintain a professional approach in all aspects of the role at all times including appearance, paperwork, power tools, work bench station and company vehicle.Our objective is to do the job right, on time, every time.Stocktake – to assist with annual and interim stocktakes as required.Communicate effectively with all Customers at all times and to inform all Customers of relevant additional services from Ross Care as appropriate.To be fully accountable for all aspects of your role and maintain good communication throughout.Perform duties according to all Company policies, procedures and instructions.Be on the on-call engineer rota – additional standby/and hourly payment received for this.

The successful candidate will also support generator test bed activities at the Norwich facility when required, including preparation, set-up, testing, inspection, data recording and post-test checks.Full experience across every area is not essential.

Plan and prepare scopes, documentation, reports and work packs for upcoming service activities.Carry out inspection, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of equipment to customers.Support generator test bed activities at the Norwich facility, including preparation, set-up, inspection, testing, data recording and post-test checks.Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults on rotating electrical machines and associated systems.Assist with mechanical dismantling, inspection and reassembly of motors, generators and associated rotating equipment.Support bearing inspection activities, including visual inspection, clearance checks, seal inspection and reporting of findings.Assist with machine alignment, coupling checks and general mechanical inspection activities.Work with engineering, test bed and workshop teams to support strip, repair, rebuild and commissioning activities.Ensure compliance with site-specific HSE requirements and company safety procedures.Provide technical support to customers on-site, remotely and internally.Maintain accurate service reports, test records and technical documentation.
Qualifications & Education:
Recognised electrical or electromechanical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent relevant experience in rotating equipment, power systems or industrial electrical systems.
HNC/HND is advantageous but not essential.Knowledge of rotating electrical machines and associated equipment.Valid offshore survival certificate (BOSIET/HUET) is advantageous. Experience:Experience in electrical or electromechanical field service, ideally involving rotating equipment, power distribution equipment or industrial electrical systems.Electrical bias preferred, with practical mechanical awareness of rotating electrical machines.Experience working in oil & gas, power generation, renewables, defence, marine or heavy industry would be advantageous.Technical knowledge of MV/LV systems, rotating equipment, diagnostics, testing tools and field service practices.Experience with condition monitoring or diagnostic testing, such as insulation resistance, vibration analysis or thermography, would be advantageous.Experience with bearing inspection, machine alignment, mechanical strip/rebuild or rotating equipment inspection would be advantageous.Experience supporting workshop, factory test or generator/motor test bed activities would be advantageous.
