CNC Production Manager Salary: £50,000 £70,000 (depending on experience)

What youll be doing as the CNC Production Manager:
- Oversee day-to-day operations in the CNC Production, managing people, production, and performance.
- Plan workloads, allocate jobs, and make sure machines and tooling are used efficiently.
- Work closely with engineering to bring new parts and processes into production.
- Analyse KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and put improvement plans in place.
- Lead toolbox talks, appraisals, and team meetings to keep everyone aligned and motivated.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping throughout the department.
- Support and drive continuous improvement through Lean tools like 5S, TPM, Kaizen, and SMED.
- Oversee maintenance, programming, and setup of CNC machinery, ensuring downtime is minimised.
- Manage training and development so the team stays flexible and capable.
What youll need as a CNC Production Manager:
- Proven experience managing a machining team or production department in a precision engineering environment.
- A solid understanding of CNC machining, tooling, and production methods.
- Experience applying Lean or Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills, someone who can motivate, plan, and get results.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM and a working understanding of mechanical drawings.
- HNC or similar in Mechanical or Production Engineering preferred.
- Confident communicator who works well with engineering, planning, quality and operations teams.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Make all intermediates and finished products by adding specific quantities of certain raw materials and/or intermediates to a batch tank or grinding mill according to a written formula using proper batch making techniques and safe methods.
This position also requires application and monitoring of established quality procedures and methods for production batches.
Expedites and follows up changes to allow for prescribed quality standards.
Request raw materials for use in formulas.
Position requires knowledge of batch making techniques, machinery operation, scales and meter use, and formula knowledge.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned. Weigh and/or measure out quantities of solvents, resins, pigments (or dispersions), and additives into blending tanks or grinding mills according to a batch ticket. Tend mixing or grinding equipment and maintain control over time, heat, mix speed, etc. Upon batch completion, take product sample to QC Lab for QC checks. Check production batches by comparison to standards Make adjustments to batch as necessary Recheck batch after adjustments are made until product is within standard product specifications Use proper analytical tools to compare product to standard specs and to wet and/or dry samples Record results of comparison and record onto batch card Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.

One batch is complete the operator will test for quality, adjust as needed to assure specification is met by following written standard operating procedures, and then fill product into specified packaging and palletize pails or drums.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines using control boards, Human Machine Interface (HMI computer touch screen) or semi-automatic equipment.
Draw samples of products, and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and ensure that standards are met.
Use appropriate scales or measurement devices to add materials to the kettle as specified by batch process orders.
Must be able to read and understand recording instruments, pressure gauges, scales, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators to verify the conformity of process conditions.
Monitor control settings and make necessary adjustments on equipment.
Accurately record production and downtime via written documentation.
EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience is required.
