WTI/Pure Air Controls Services Estimating Engineer Job Description
Engineer (Preconstruction)
General Purpose:
To assess project requirements, gather technical data, and provide accurate cost estimates for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) restoration projects.
This role combines engineering expertise with estimating skills to ensure that HVAC projects are planned and budgeted effectively.
Here are the primary purposes and responsibilities of a Preconstruction Engineer:
Responsibilities and Duties:
Determines scope, designs solutions and estimates cost of HVAC restoration projects. Understands components and function of existing mechanical systems that are being altered or renovated. Develops a project scope of work through site visits and discussions with owner / facility staff Exercises control over design and production tasks to enable HVAC restoration projects. Drafts construction documents and generates specifications for HVAC restoration projects. Utilizes in-house estimating tools to create project budgets. Assists sales team with scope reviews and support as needed. Creates, maintains, and improves estimating tools. Determines the estimated cost of HVAC projects.
This includes calculating costs for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and any other expenses associated with the project.
Conducts on-site visits and assessments to understand the scope and technical intricacies of specific projects.
This includes evaluating existing HVAC systems, identifying any issues or challenges, and gathering data needed for precise estimation. Ensures a smooth transition from estimation to project execution, providing technical guidance and insights as needed.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 3+ years of industry-specific experience. Experience with construction drafting in AutoCAD. EI certification with ability to obtain PE license preferred. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge preferred. Experience with programming language (VBA, C#, etc.) preferred Experience with cloud based platforms (Pro-Core, E-Builder, iAuditor, etc) preferred. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The BIM Specialist is responsible for transforming conceptual layouts to full fabrication and installable LOD400 models of metal panels that integrate with the building design along with associated shop drawings and custom Revit schedules to facilitate shop fabrication.
The ability to perform minor changes to existing Revit families desired, or knowing when to reach out for advanced help.
The BIM Specialist will support senior modelers and project teams and promote the best tools and Revit/BIM best practices for each project with required configurations and deployments.
May lead discipline specific Revit/BIM modeling content for design projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain, modify and if able create new Revit families alone or in conjunction with the BIM Manager for the Texas Panel Plant. Create models using Autodesk Revit.
(Current version plus three release back) Create project specific 2D and 3D drawings and models for project submittals, special projects, bid packages, and product manufacturing (i.e.
Shop Drawings). Coordinate and assist with any addendum, request for information, change proposal requests and change orders; make necessary revisions to existing drawings. Prepare final drawings based on prior work examples and input from designers and/or engineers. Establish, implement, and maintain quality control procedures. Document RevitBIM standards, processes, procedures, and workflows to ensure consistency and quality across projects. Identify and resolve clashes, conflicts, and discrepancies within Revit/BIM models to ensure smooth coordination between various disciplines. Collaborate across functions to ensure accurate and timely designs in accordance with established budgets and estimates. Prioritize all work in accordance with project deadlines. Maintain and improve knowledge of Revit/BIM techniques, drawing standards, practices, and engineering procedures as well as new and emerging technologies and best practices impacting digital design to enhance productivity and efficiency as well as profits. Manage the implementation of supporting software applications for Revit/BIM and project delivery.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's Degree or similar in Design, CAD, Engineering, architecture, or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Minimum 2 years experience as a Revit modelling practitioner working with project architects, engineers or managers.
Demonstrated knowledge, proficiency, and use of Autodesk Revit in conjunction with the Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Strong familiarity with other CAD software such as AutoCAD, Rhino 3D.
General knowledge of other BIM related software and 3rd party Revit tools used for data manipulation and automation of repetitive tasks such as Be.Smart, CTC Tools, IMAGINiT for Revit, DI Roots.
Knowledge or interest in CNC fabrication
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Revit Certification highly desired.

The BIM Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Revit/Building Information Modeling (BIM) implementation to enhance the design, fabrication, and coordination of HercuWall.
This role will involve working closely with product, production, and sales teams to develop accurate and efficient BIM models that support manufacturing processes and ensure seamless integration of designs into the production floor.

Assist in the creation and management of 3D models, drawings, and digital construction documents to streamline the manufacturing process and improve product accuracy.
Perform clash detection and ensure coordination between different disciplines (e.g., architecture, structure, MEP) to avoid design conflicts during the preconstruction phase. Support the team in optimizing panel design for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and ease of installation. Provide Revit/BIM training and support, including developing standards and guidelines for BIM implementation. Maintain Revit/BIM-related documentation and records, ensuring that all models and documents are up-to-date and accurate. Collaborate with the preconstruction team to conduct reviews, design validation, and coordination meetings to ensure the alignment of the models with client expectations and production requirements. Participate in the development of customized Revit/BIM workflows and tools to improve efficiency, enhance collaboration, and meet project deadlines.
