What will you be doing?
As CNC Machining Production Manager, youll be the vital link between our technical ambitions and world-class manufacturing.
Youll have full operational responsibility for the CNC machining department, leading an experienced and talented team through every stage of the production process.
You will champion a continuous improvement mindset, driving safety, efficiency, and excellence in all aspects of the engineering output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across CNC machining, ensuring optimal productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a skilled team of CNC machinists, programmers, and production support staff.
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule work to meet demanding project timelines and ambitious customer requirements.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques and champion continuous process improvement, identifying opportunities for automation and workflow enhancement.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and sales teams to streamline processes and deliver precisely to client specifications.
- Play a key role in capital equipment investment, technology selection, and the adoption of the latest CNC, CAD/CAM, and digital manufacturing solutions.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) around quality, output, cost, and on-time delivery.
- Troubleshoot production challenges, work proactively to resolve bottlenecks, and maintain high levels of machine uptime.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and professional development across the production floor.

Manufacturing Engineer Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer will join a team of 5 in the drawing office, focusing on producing high-quality 2D engineering drawings and 3D models to support the manufacture of components.
The role also involves proposing cost-effective manufacturing solutions and identifying ways to minimise production costs while maintaining quality.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
- Understanding customer requirements by studying drawings and discussing requirements with the customer's technical staff.
- Considering specific customer requirements related to heat treatment, surface finish and dimensional tolerances.
- Understanding interfaces, mating, tolerances and fits to other process equipment.
- Working with manufacturing departments to ensure they can meet drawing tolerances and accuracies.
- Producing drawings to a consistent standard with clear notes and explosions of complex details.
- Marking up drawings for internal engineers and sub-contract manufacturers to enable accurate production of finished components.
- Checking that manufactured or measured parts do not interfere with fixtures, jigs or holding devices.
- Working with the purchasing department to use stock or standard materials with acceptable lead times.
- Designing new tooling and fixtures.
- Reviewing customer designs and issuing instructions to the shop floor.
- Efficiently issuing, storing and archiving designs, calculations and drawings.
Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:
- Qualified to HNC/HND/Degree standard in Mechanical Engineering or having relevant experience.
- Proficient in using AutoCAD and/or Creo and Microsoft Office.
- Capable of working alone and liaising efficiently with internal and external parties.
- An in-depth understanding of design for manufacture and manufacturing processes.
- Machining knowledge to understand manufacturing routes.
Manufacturing Engineer Desirable Experience:
- Apprenticeship trained (engineering).
- Experience in the automotive, power transmission, gear, and calibration industries.

Automation Engineer Location: Buckinghamshire Shift Pattern: Panama Shift - 12-hour Days & Nights Salary: up to £65,000
We're seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team at a highly automated, high-volume production site.
You'll support critical production IT systems and lead optimisation initiatives that drive continuous improvement and performance.
What You'll Be Doing:
Structured troubleshooting of automation systems including HMI, SCADA, and Siemens PLCs
Preventive and proactive maintenance of production IT infrastructure (servers, drivers, networks)
System monitoring and diagnostics to maintain uptime and performance
Leading and participating in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
Delivering optimisation projects with tangible outcomes
What We're Looking For:
NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or Degree in an engineering discipline
Experience in automated process industries (e.g.
Food, Brewing, Pharma, Chemical)
Hands-on experience supporting production IT and automation systems
PLC/S7 and OAS knowledge preferred
Familiarity with Aveva Wonderware (WW), OEE, and RMS is a strong advantage
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A proactive, team-focused mindset with a drive to share knowledge and improve systems
