As our Batch Maker, you're there to produce paint and related products by setting up, operating, or tending machines to mix or blend materials, such as chemicals, liquids, color pigments, explosive ingredients, or rust-proofing materials. Solving challenges is the very foundation of who we are.

Follows batch work instructions in order to manufacture quality products. Prepares disperser and letdown tank for production, including any necessary equipment clean up. Monitors and controls high-speed disperser, mixer, pumps, flow meters and other instruments in order to make sure that a batch is produced according to work instructions. Adjust a batch, under QC guidance, until it is approved. Get batch tickets from floor supervisor and discuss with floor supervisor the best order.
Determine raw materials needed. Housekeeping - Clean up work area to 5S standards, takes out trash, participate in cycle count and inventory program. May assist in other departments such as filling, and material handling or help make sample batches Ensure work area is safe, clean and free of recognizable hazards, communicating all spills or other hazards to the shift supervisor Responsible for Dust collector cleanouts when required. Here's what you can expect: • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment. • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. • Follow checklists to inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions. • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, machinery, and equipment. • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Required Skills: • 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environment; preferably in chemical/paint manufacturing • High School Diploma or equivalent • Must have expertise in packaging equipment, plumbing, and pipefitting, with skills in electrical work and instrument calibration considered a definite plus • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex packaging and material-handling equipment is required • Ability to do basic math. • Accurately enter and retrieve computer data. • Ability to operate machinery • Ability to solve problems in a team environment. • Active participation in our Continuous Improvement Process. • Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds. • Willing to work overtime as required. Additional Consideration Given to Those With: • Exposure to quality programs • Paint/Coatings/chemical industry knowledge or experience • Experience with a continuous process discipline such as Six Sigma/Lean/TQM manufacturing environment. • Previous experience with safety programs Flex Schedule: 6:00 AM to 6:15 PM shift following a 3-6-3-2 rotation-3 days on, 6 days off, 3 days on, and 2 days off.
Each 12.5 hour shift includes 30 minute unpaid lunch and 3 paid breaks (15 minutes)

Schedule needed repairs to have minimum interference with operations.
Troubleshoot/repair equipment in a timely and efficient manner. Comply with company safety rules and procedures.
Complete daily and shift clean up tasks. Communicate results/ concerns/ issues with supervisor and co-workers.
Ensure shift to shift hand-off is complete. Support and complete small capital projects. Required Experience:
