Holt Engineering is currently working with an innovative Electronics manufacturing company based in Fareham, Due to an ever-expanding order book our clients are looking for an experienced Repair Technician.
As a Repair Technician, your role will be to assist in the review and repair of faulty products received by the company.
Duties for the Repair Technician:
- Repair and review all products received
- Rework of PCB components
- Working on SMT, through hole and PCB track repair procedures
- Soldering to IPC standards.
- Soldering small components.
- Soldering with a microscope at times.
To be a successful Repair Technician you must:
- PCB soldering experience
- Experience in electronic rework and repair
- Be able to understand technical drawings
- Solder to good standards
- Experience in IPC 7711/7721
- IPC 610 certificate - beneficial
- Good attention to detail and be able to work to tight deadlines
For the successful Repair Technician, you will:
- Get a competitive pay structure
- Early finish on Fridays
- Friendly work environment
The working hours are:
- Monday to Thursday 7:30-16:30 and early finish on Fridays 12:30
Paying between £13.50-£15.00 ph (depending on experience)

About the role:
As a Quality Engineer, you'll be a key player across the full product lifecycle — from supplier selection to final product inspection.
You'll support production, engineering, and customer quality assurance, ensuring products meet stringent standards including IPC-A-610 and ISO9001.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee production quality standards and technician training.
Conduct first article inspections and manage non-conformances.
Support design reviews and validation/verification of new products.
Manage customer complaints, audits, and satisfaction reporting.
Liaise with suppliers to resolve material issues and drive quality improvements.
Maintain and improve the Business Management System and lead internal audits.
What my client are looking for:
Experience in a Quality Engineering role within electronics, manufacturing, or related fields.
Strong knowledge of quality standards (IPC-A-610, ISO9001, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and suppliers.
Experience with liaising with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders on quality related issues, including complaints, rejects, FATs, FAIRs and change control.
Root cause analysis and effective implementation of corrective actions
Inspection of electrical, electronic and mechanical parts, assemblies and products against engineering drawings and specifications.
Eligible to work in the UK and BPSS Security Clearance required

For the Assembly Fitter position, we are keen to receive applications from individuals who possess:
Formal qualifications within a relevant discipline (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, BTEC/NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 etc.)
Stable work history with experience working in similar position as a Mechanical Engineer, Technician, Assembler etc.
A strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
Working hours of the Assembly Fitter: 40 Hours per week spread across a regular day shift:
Monday to Thursday - 07:30 to 16:30
Friday - 07:30 to 14:00
On offer to the successful Assembly Fitter:
Annual Salary: £35,000.00 - £37,500.00 (£16.82 - £18.02)
Annual Bonus of £2,000.00 (£500 paid quarterly)
Holiday Entitlement: 33 Days including statutory holidays
Pension Scheme: 11% Combined (6% employer / 5% employee)
Regular overtime paid at 150%
