Engineer (Preconstruction)
General Purpose:
To assess project requirements, gather technical data, and provide accurate cost estimates for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) restoration projects.
This role combines engineering expertise with estimating skills to ensure that HVAC projects are planned and budgeted effectively.
Here are the primary purposes and responsibilities of a Preconstruction Engineer:
Responsibilities and Duties:
Determines scope, designs solutions and estimates cost of HVAC restoration projects. Understands components and function of existing mechanical systems that are being altered or renovated. Develops a project scope of work through site visits and discussions with owner / facility staff Exercises control over design and production tasks to enable HVAC restoration projects. Drafts construction documents and generates specifications for HVAC restoration projects. Utilizes in-house estimating tools to create project budgets. Assists sales team with scope reviews and support as needed. Creates, maintains, and improves estimating tools. Determines the estimated cost of HVAC projects.
This includes calculating costs for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and any other expenses associated with the project.
Conducts on-site visits and assessments to understand the scope and technical intricacies of specific projects.
This includes evaluating existing HVAC systems, identifying any issues or challenges, and gathering data needed for precise estimation. Ensures a smooth transition from estimation to project execution, providing technical guidance and insights as needed.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 3+ years of industry-specific experience. Experience with construction drafting in AutoCAD. EI certification with ability to obtain PE license preferred. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge preferred. Experience with programming language (VBA, C#, etc.) preferred Experience with cloud based platforms (Pro-Core, E-Builder, iAuditor, etc) preferred. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: This position has responsibility of assisting members of the product and technical groups in executing their respective missions.
The candidate must be a team player and interface / coordinate with several other departments within Tremco.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides technical expertise and training to other departments and the sales force. Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide technical support responsive to customer and sales force needs.
Develops and maintains a prioritized list of assignments from the Technical Resource Manager, the Director, Technical Solutions, and Product Managers.
Assists with coordinating, development and updating of technical documents. Monitors and advises on competitive product information. Develops product line presentations and participates in training meetings for customers and company sales force. Actively participates with Industry organizations where appropriate. Assists the product and technical group with technical support, including assisting with the product group helpdesk.
Visits construction sites to observe, collect, and report application procedures and deficiencies.
Manages the system engineered to assist the sales force with national inquiries.
Assists with the field trails of new products and processes.
Responsibilities will include any and all responsibilities deemed necessary by the Technical Resource Manager and/or Director, Technical Solutions. Generate and/or edit drawing details using AutoCAD or similar software.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: 1+ year of related experience required.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency using AutoCAD or similar software program. Willing and able to access commercial building roofs using a ladder.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, sales and marketing staff, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Willingness to actively participate in a continuing education program.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.

The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $48,426 and $60,532 .

The Process Engineer will manage and commercialize new processes developed by the Research and Development department into full scale production within the Tremco Corsicana plant.
The Process Engineer will determine which equipment in the plant is most suited to make new products and what modifications may be necessary for such production to successfully occur. Over the next two years, the Tremco Corsicana facility will design, construct, and commission a new reactor.
This new major plant expansion will introduce new production capabilities to the Corsicana facility and is expected to serve as a model project for further plant modernization efforts.
The employee filling this role will lead this expansion project all the way through the commissioning and scaleup phases. In addition to supporting new products and plant expansions, this individual will also manage and optimize existing processes throughout the plant with the goals of maximizing yield and minimizing batch cycle times. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES: Safety The Process Engineer will actively participate in process safety reviews, and process hazards analysis as the technical representative. Must understand the hazards of the raw materials, processes, and products in order to develop a safe manufacturing process. Subject matter expert in wide range of chemical plant processes and systems.
Perform safety vent calculations for process upset conditions. Determine the correct control systems and interlocks to safely operate the process. Participate in plantwide process safety programs. LEAN Culture Use knowledge of existing processes to propose process modifications which will reduce waste. The Process Engineer, will be the technical consultant to the plant continuous improvement team. Understand the principle and philosophy behind the implementation of a LEAN culture. Product Quality Provide process knowledge to quality control department in order to troubleshoot quality issues. After developing a new process, coordinate the training of operators with a focus on quality critical product specifications, Standard Operating Procedures and process parameters.
