JOB DESCRIPTION
DAP is looking to hire a Product Development Scientist in R&D Department. As a R&D Scientist, you will plan/Perform experiments and generate general test data and analytical data with minimal guidance from senior R&D personnel; perform basic data analysis.
Participate in and help drive activities that improve the operation of the R&D function.
Collaborate with other R&D personnel and participate in cross-functional teams to help drive innovation.
Proven success in previous role.
Responsibilities:
Develop and carry out experimental plans for new product development, product modification and perform basic analysis of experimental results.
Demonstrate competency in formulation practices, complex problem-solving, innovative solutions, and addressing scientific challenges. Demonstrate the ability to operate analytical and material characterization equipment, generate high quality data, and perform basic analysis of the data generated. Assist senior R&D Personnel to develop manufacturing procedures for new products and work collaboratively at plant trials with plant engineers and quality control managers.
Demonstrate knowledge of basic process steps for plant trials. Adhere to Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) practices and participate in QMS audits.
Perform laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
Assist in providing technical support for marketing, sales, and customer support including planning/conducting product demonstrations for customers, trade shows, Etc.
Adhere to laboratory safety practices and participate in all safety and housekeeping initiatives.
Demonstrate ability to independently assemble information for and generate highly effective written reports and oral presentations to communicate within R&D and with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field with 5 years' experience of relevant experience A passion for chemistry, science, problem solving, and creativity. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills. A breadth of technical knowledge and a keen interest in learning from others. Possess innovation skills evident as risk taking, result seeking, and idea integration.
Hands-on bench experience with various chemistries (latex, moisture curing, reactive, etc.) in sealants, adhesives, coatings, repair or related field. Bench chemistry experience and familiarity with various analytical techniques: wet chemistry, titrations, microscopy, rheology, thermal analysis, tensile testing, etc. Experience operating lab scale mixing equipment as well as lab scale analytical and testing apparatus.

General Purpose:
To assess project requirements, gather technical data, and provide accurate cost estimates for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) restoration projects.
This role combines engineering expertise with estimating skills to ensure that HVAC projects are planned and budgeted effectively.
Here are the primary purposes and responsibilities of a Preconstruction Engineer:
Responsibilities and Duties:
Determines scope, designs solutions and estimates cost of HVAC restoration projects. Understands components and function of existing mechanical systems that are being altered or renovated. Develops a project scope of work through site visits and discussions with owner / facility staff Exercises control over design and production tasks to enable HVAC restoration projects. Drafts construction documents and generates specifications for HVAC restoration projects. Utilizes in-house estimating tools to create project budgets. EI certification with ability to obtain PE license preferred. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge preferred. Leverage SAP systems to complete notifications as product specialist.

Serve as lead project engineer for approved capital projects with the goal of on time and on budget completion. Develop and administer a viable and visual Preventative Maintenance Program that reduces downtime and improves overall reliability of production and production supporting machinery.
Responsible for identifying capital requirements for the facility's annual capital plan and budget. Direct, review, and approve product design and changes consistent with MOC procedures.
Recruit departmental employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Analyze annual site utility expenditure and develop plan to optimize plant efficiency to reduce costs (ISO 14001).
Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
Integrate the plant PHA initiative with the appropriate capital projects. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and work with the maintenance crew to implement the needed preventative measures. Assists with coordinating, development and updating of technical documents. Monitors and advises on competitive product information. Develops product line presentations and participates in training meetings for customers and company sales force. Actively participates with Industry organizations where appropriate. Visits construction sites to observe, collect, and report application procedures and deficiencies.
Manages the system engineered to assist the sales force with national inquiries.
Assists with the field trails of new products and processes.
Responsibilities will include any and all responsibilities deemed necessary by the Technical Resource Manager and/or Director, Technical Solutions. Generate and/or edit drawing details using AutoCAD or similar software.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: 1+ year of related experience required.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency using AutoCAD or similar software program. Willing and able to access commercial building roofs using a ladder.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, sales and marketing staff, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Willingness to actively participate in a continuing education program.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.

The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $48,426 and $60,532 .

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Design Engineer assesses project requirements, gathers technical field data, determines design requirements, selects appropriate equipment, and provides drafting of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) restoration projects.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Engineer Intern (EI) Certification Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of industry-specific experience. Experience with construction drafting in AutoCAD. EI certification with the ability to obtain a PE license preferred. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge preferred. Experience with a programming language (VBA, C#, etc.) preferred. The Construction Manager Junior Associate position will train in many departments within Roofing and WTI while engaged in a degree seeking program through RISE.
The following areas will be included in training as well as any others deemed appropriate: WTI Field - WTI Field Resources to learn installation of different types of roofing systems such as BUR, EPDM, Single-ply, coatings, and other forms of low-slope roofing systems, as well as safe operations of tools of the trade.
