Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to help deliver mission-critical electrical systems for ships, weapon systems, and communication platforms.

What You'll Do
Design and develop electrical systems for sonar, control, and power distribution.
Integrate subsystems into complex defence platforms.
Ensure compliance with MIL-STD, DEF STAN, and EMC standards.
Run testing, validation, and qualification activities.
Produce clear schematics, test documents, and design reports.
Troubleshoot electrical issues across development and in-service equipment.
Support upgrades, obsolescence, and new technology adoption.

Position Overview
The Vessel Electrical Engineer (shore-based) will focus on surveys, fault finding, repairs, and installation of vessel electrical systems across operational vessels, from engine room to bridge.
You will be the go-to technical expert for electrical works, ensuring operational vessels remain safe, compliant, and fully functional.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Conduct electrical surveys on vessels, including dockings, overhauls, and routine inspections.
• Fault-find, repair, and install vessel electrical systems, covering:
• Engine Controls (Deep Sea, Comap, and various other systems)
• Power Management Systems (PMS)
• Bridge systems including navigation, radar, communication, and other electrical equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities of a paint sprayer:
- Filling and fairing various moulds to meet customer specification prior to application of various paint systems using various fillers to include AWL-FAIR prior to primer application
- Paint spraying GRP moulding using two pack polyester base coats and polyurethane top coats to high quality standards.
- Using a wide range of various paint systems Primers, base coats, clears, metallics, textured finishes and non-slip coatings.
- GRP mouldings to be finished ready to take subsequent paint systems
- Lacquers cut and polished to high gloss
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Good paint preparation skills, GRP surfaces made good for priming and application of base coats and lacquers, use of a wide range of tools to include orbital sanders, air saws, drills, sanding blocks.
- Previous experience in cutting and polishing paints and lacquers to a mirror finish.
- Experience working as a Paint Sprayer within Marine, Automotive or aviation industry.
- Previous experience in application of various paint systems and being able to follow Technical Data Sheets to ensure process is followed and recorded.
- An understanding of WFT and how this is measured.
- Any previous experience of working with carbon fibre would be beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
