Typically, this person will work within a vibrant and fast-paced Design Office, playing a key role in the development of high-quality, innovative products.
This includes both mechanical and electrical assemblies used in the automotive and marine sectors.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation and a practical engineering background, enabling them to contribute effectively to new product development, continuous improvement initiatives, and daily technical support across departments.

Duties and responsibilities of the Design Engineer:
Design and engineer complex assemblies combining mechanical, electrical, and moulded components (GRP and other materials)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new development projects from concept to pre-production
Provide technical support to internal departments including production, sales, and quality
Liaise with external suppliers on technical and component-related matters
Create, maintain, and control engineering drawings, technical documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Participate in hands-on prototype building and on-water product testing
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within both product design and assembly line processes
Support decision-making processes by offering design input and innovative engineering solutions
Qualifications and requirements for the Design Engineer:
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Design Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
Highly proficient in 3D CAD software (preferably Siemens NX), with strong skills in component and assembly modelling, and detailed drawing creation
Experience working with mechanical systems, including drivetrains and fabricated parts in steel, aluminium, and plastics
Understanding of moulded parts and tooling processes; ability to develop laminate schedules is a plus
Familiarity with fluid and/or electrical systems is advantageous
Practical, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work hands-on when needed
Prior experience in the marine industry is beneficial, though not essential
