The firm has been servicing its clients for over 125 years, and they are looking to hire a paralegal with either private practice or local authority court of protection experience, who can support the Court of Protection team.
This role will be suitable for a paralegal who is looking for a long-term career as a paralegal.
The Role
Joining the Court of Protection team, you will be supporting fee earners with their Court of Protection caseloads.
The team work on various matters including deputyship, vulnerable adults, brain injuries and much more.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting court of protection applications including deputyship orders, statutory wills, gifting applications)
Preparing supporting documents such as capacity assessments
Assisting on preparation of Lasting Power of Attorney
Liaising with clients, their families, social workers and medical professionals
Maintaining and updating client files
Conducting legal research
About You
Previous and significant experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal within a Court of Protection team (this must be within private practice or within local authority)
Someone who is looking for a long-term career as a paralegal
Knowledge of Mental Capacity Law
Experience using case management systems
Experience of conducting legal research on mental capacity, health and welfare decisions, and case law development

Scheme Manager required for housing association in the London Borough of Richmond.
These are individual dwellings in which residents enjoy independent living.
Scheme Managers support residents in maintaining dignity and independence.
The Scheme Managers will provide support at all the house estates, dependent on the schedule of cover and staff leave.
There are 48 houses.
The Scheme Managers support the residents in the houses and assist one another in dealing with emergencies at all times.
All Scheme Managers work in accordance with a schedule of duty periods and free time.
The Scheme Managers work as a team.
Some Scheme Managers are resident on the estates and some are non-resident.
A Careline emergency alarm system is in operation in each house.
Each house is fitted with smoke detectors which are monitored by Careline.
Each resident has a pendant transmitter and an alarm button on the Careline unit.
The Scheme Manager is required to keep good records of the residents in order to summon doctors, family members, etc.
and to discuss relevant matters with Social Services departments.
On dates set at the beginning of each year Scheme Managers are required to make short written reports for the Trustees setting out the details of any matter other than routine support.

As the Occupational Therapist your key responsibilities include:
Work across our rehabilitation and recovery wards, with the support of our two OTAs
Applying OT assessments and interventions, 1-to-1 with patients and also leading group work
Support our patients to engage in the therapeutic programme which is delivered in conjunction with psychology and nursing colleagues
Work alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team to identify the patients' Occupational Needs
Observe and monitor the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to more senior staff and documented as appropriate
Ensure the effective, timely and accurate updating of clinical records and computerised information systems
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
Experience of working in inpatient mental health services or a similar role would be desirable
Experience in line managing and supervising junior colleagues is also desirable but not essential
Experience in mental health
Ability to take on challenges
An understanding of the value of being engaged in meaningful occupations
Compassion, enthusiasm, creativity and proactive
