This is a great opportunity for an experienced Legal Counsel to join a fantastic global brand name manufacturing & retail business, headquartered in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, on a fixed term contract basis for an initial 6 month term.
The role will report directly into the General Counsel and will see you working across a broad range of Commercial legal matters, advising the business on everything from product development and manufacturing to sales and marketing activities and logistics.
Whilst the nature of the work will predominantly relate to a range of commercial contracts, the legal team gets involved in a full spectrum of in house legal work which may also involve IT, Property, Employment, Product Liability, Corporate activity and more.
You will also have the opportunity to get involved with the supervision and mentoring of more junior team members, if this is of interest.
The ideal applicant will have a number of years commercial legal experience (a minimum of around 4 years PQE but you could have significantly more) and will comfortably be able to handle a mixed caseload of general in house legal work (predominantly contracts) with a good level of autonomy.
This a highly commercial team with a 'get it done' attitude so you will be immersed in the work, rather than spending time managing external legal services providers.
There is a possibility for the fixed term to be extended or for the successful candidate to be made permanent, if desired.
Whilst the office location for this role is Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, the business is open to hybrid and potentially fully remote working arrangements, so we are happy to chat to those based further afield.
If you would like to hear more about this fixed term contract Senior Legal Counsel opportunity, please do get in touch with Sophie Linley at Sacco Mann on 0113 236 6711, or share your CV via the 'apply' button and we will contact you.
