Housing Officer

One of the largest housing associations in Devon is currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Officer who is able to work across the North Devon area, with a focus on Bideford, providing a high quality housing and estate management service, for an initial 4 month period.

The Role
In this Housing Officer role, you will be responsible for providing an excellent housing and estate management service to residents.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
, Managing a portfolio of properties, schemes and estates, across all tenures to the highest possible standard
, Handling housing management issues directly with residents
, Work with the income services team to support income recovery and tenancy sustainment
, Work in conjunction with the Voids and Lettings teams, to re-let properties within target timescales
, Advise residents on their tenancies and resolve tenancy and occupancy matters, including neighbour disputes
, Provide housing advice to residents', including possible welfare benefits entitlement and encouraging appropriate claims with the support of other staff teams
, Signpost referrals for Support, Care, Adaptations and partner agencies

The Candidate
To be considered for this Housing Officer role, it is essential that you have previous Housing Management experience, with strong knowledge of tenancy sustainment.

You will require experience of the voids process, handling rent arrears and be confident in dealing with neighbour disputes and ASB.
The team is now working in an agile way with some elements of home working and the patch area for this role is in North Devon.

Therefore you will need to be content travelling around the North Devon area where required.

As a result, a clean UK driving license in a necessity for this role.
As this role includes work with vulnerable individuals, you will require an Enhanced DBS on the update service.

The Contract
This is a full time role, working 36.25 hours per week Monday to Friday.

The contract will run for approximately 4 months, covering a secondment, with a chance of being extended.
