Youth Justice Officer

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Youth Justice Officer for a 6 month contract for a local police force in Shrewsbury.

This is a full time (37.5 hours) role with the outlook to extend the initial contract.

This role is covering the Youth Justice service therefore travel between offices will be required.

The purpose of this role is to manage a caseload and co-ordinate high quality delivery of direct work with children, young people, their families and the victims of youth crime with the principal aim of preventing offending.

Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to -

- To undertake comprehensive assessment and case planning with young people referred.
- To be responsible for the management of a caseload and to design and to directly deliver programmes of intervention to prevent offending by children and young people.

This will include direct work with families, victims of youth crime and the co-ordination of multiagency input to programme delivery.

Lead and contribute to restorative justice interventions, programme, activity and ISS requirements, bail supervision and support and the delivery of group work.
- To lead and contribute to court facing services including court officer duties, preparation of pre-sentence reports and advising on bail and remand decisions

To be considered for this role you MUST -

- Have a professional qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Education,
Probation or Health
- Have at least 2 years direct work within a high-risk, client-facing service for
vulnerable groups.

This is likely to be in a criminal justice, social care,
health or education setting.
- Have experience of operating successfully within an outward-facing
multi-agency partnership environment
