Job Description:

Are you a qualified accountant, ideally with exposure to UK OEICs, within a financial services or practice environment? If so, then we want to hear from you!

Our client, a leading asset management firm based in Edinburgh, is looking for a Fund Accountant to join their team on an initial 12-month fixed term contract.

Essential Skills/Experience:

Qualified accountant
Post qualifying experience working as a fund accountant with UK OEICs or as an auditor carrying out the audit of UK OEICs
Abilities to work under pressure
Proven organisational skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Proven problem-solving ability with ability to resolve issues
Good team worker

Desirable Skills/Experience:

Possess full IOC or willing to work towards this within first 6 months of role

Core Responsibilities:

Assist with ensuring the accounting and control procedures, relating to the Collective Investment Schemes, are operating satisfactorily
Prepare and review Collective Investment Scheme reports
Prepare and review statutory returns for the Collective Investment Schemes
Review of daily Collective Investment Scheme prices
Ensure Collective Investment Schemes are correctly taxed, and all forms and returns are correctly prepared and filed
Maintain technical knowledge relating to Collective Investment Schemes
Support the business operationally by determining the operational implications of proposals and implement solutions where required
Communicate with Depositary/Custodian/Auditors
Provide ad hoc technical assistance within the department and wider business
