You have the opportunity to apply for a NDT Technician position with a company based in Huddersfield that have been established for a number of years and are offering a salary of £39'789 when working a double day shift.

Responsibilities and requirements of the NDT technician

• Ultra Sonic Inspection


• Carrying out inspection both on and off-site


• Evaluate and report on test results


• Maintain equipment and calibration systems


• Responsible for recording and reporting discrepancies where necessary


• Understands & follows detailed instructions, routing & drawings for job & setup operations


• Interpreting national and international codes and standards that apply to the method of inspection being used


• Carrying out routine control checks to validate the inspection process and verify equipment calibrations


• Update and communicate inspection metrics in line with day-to-day activities

Requirements of the NDT Technician

• PCN Level 2 (Minimum), Sector 5, Method 24 - UT Forgings (Forgings and wrought products)


• PCN Level 2 (Minimum), Sector 5, Method 21 - MPI (Forgings and wrought products)


• PCN Level 2 (Minimum), Sector 5, Method 22 - DPI (Forgings and wrought products)


• PCN Level 2 (Minimum), Sector 6, Method 22 - DPI (Welds) Desired:


• PCN Level 2 (Minimum), Sector 2, Method 23 - Visual testing (General)


• PCN Level 2 (Minimum), Sector 6, Method 21 - MPI (Welds)


• Experience in Barkhausen noise inspection by manual technique


• Experience in Nital etch inspection by Swab or immersion method

Working hours of the NDT techincian
Rotating AM & PM shifts working an average of 37 hours per week - 18% shift allowance is applicable:

• AM Shift: 40 Hours per week




• Monday to Friday 06:30 to 14:30




• PM Shift: 34 Hours per week




• Monday to Thursday 14:30 to 22:00


• Friday: 14:30 to 18:30

In return, the Ndt Technician will receive:

• Base Salary: £33720.18 (£39789.6 including 18% shift allowance)
