Fleet Mechanic

Service Care Solutions have a vacancy for an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join a local authority within Gloucestershire on a Permanent contract.

Working at the workshop in Gloucester, this is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

You will conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on all firefighting vehicles, cars, vans, pick-ups, and other ancillary vehicles including watercraft (Ribcraft boats) in accordance with manufacturer guidelines to ensure legal requirements are met and agreed standards are maintained.

You will also have responsibility for conducting minor repairs to vehicles and plant bodywork and finishing to the required standard as well as maintaining relevant records and job cards for all repairs.

Key Duties for this vacancy will include but not be limited to
Inspecting, servicing, testing, and repairing vehicles or plant items brought into the workshop
Reporting major technical faults
Diagnosing defects and identifying the most cost-effective methods of rectification
Carrying out site servicing and roadside repairs as required
Carrying out MOT and Taxi-test duties
Completing vehicle servicing reports
Carrying out minor body repairs as required
Servicing and repairing fleet vehicles up to 3,500 KG

Requirements will include
Level 2 Qualification in Vehicle Repair or equivalent
IRTEC Qualification
Hydraulic and Water Pump knowledge
Experience of working on HGV and Emergency vehicles
Full UK Drivers License with category B and C
MOT knowledge and experience
