Maintenance Engineer

Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer  with a knack for keeping CNC machines running at their best? We’re looking for a proactive and skilled engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment, where you’ll be at the heart of keeping production moving smoothly.

The Role of a Maintenance Engineer:
In this varied and practical role, you’ll be performing planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across a range of machinery, plant, and site facilities.

A big part of your day will be focused on maintaining and troubleshooting CNC machines, as well as working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
You’ll be working to a high standard to ensure minimal downtime, spotting opportunities for improvement, and helping keep the whole site operating efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer:

- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and repairs on CNC machinery and other production equipment.
- Diagnose faults within the machine shop environment and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain and improve all aspects of site facilities, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Work from technical drawings to fault find and repair where necessary.
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement for plant and equipment reliability.

What You’ll Need as a Maintenance Engineer:

- Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent maintenance engineering experience.
- Strong background in CNC machine maintenance and fault finding.
- Skilled in either mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical maintenance.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, with great attention to detail.
- A positive, proactive approach and a commitment to getting the job done.

Desirable Skills for a Maintenance Engineer:

- Ability to fault-find from electrical/mechanical drawings or PLC systems.
- Understanding of modern maintenance philosophies such as TPM, PPM, or RCM.
- Basic electrical skills training and relevant academic qualifications (HNC, HND, BTEC).
