Family Solicitor (Public law)

Our client is a thriving, family-run law firm based in central Middlesbrough, specialising in Criminal Defence and Family/Children Law.

Renowned for their exceptional client care and commitment to developing their people, they’re now seeking a Family Solicitor to join their growing team.

This is a firm where collaboration, support, and progression are more than just buzzwords.

In return for your expertise, you’ll enjoy a competitive salary (DOE), structured training and genuine career development, above-average holidays plus Christmas closure, and a workplace pension.

You’ll play a key role within the Family Law department, focusing on publicly funded Family work—particularly Care and Child Protection matters.

Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll manage your own caseload, provide expert advice, and help strengthen the firm’s reputation for excellence in Care proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

- Delivering high-quality legal advice and representation in public law cases.
- Managing a varied caseload efficiently, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Building strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised case documentation.

About You:

- A minimum of 1 year’s PQE in Family Law (pre-qualification experience will also be valued).
- Strong knowledge of Legal Aid and the CCMS system.
- A team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.
- Resolution or Panel Membership would be advantageous but not essential.

The firm welcomes applications from solicitors seeking part-time or flexible working arrangements.

If you’re looking to join a firm that truly invests in its people, values quality over quantity, and offers real opportunities to grow your career, this could be the perfect move.
