JOB DESCRIPTION
The Buyer is responsible for procuring raw materials, finished goods, lab and office supplies, and indirect materials to support production, operations, and administrative needs.
This role will manage vendor relationships, coordinate with internal departments, ensure timely supply chain activities, and provide purchasing support for multiple business units, including Corsicana and Agricultural (Ag) operations.
The Buyer will also provide administrative support and act as a backup for customer order processing when needed.
Main Responsibilities:
Handle all vendor-related issues, including managing price lists, raw material shortages, price discrepancies, new raw materials, setting up new vendors, and securing documentation from new vendors for setup in internal company systems. Provide support for toll blenders for finished goods production, including placing purchase orders and supplying necessary supporting documentation (SDS and batch sheets). Request and review quotes for new lab equipment purchases and other capital expenditures, while maintaining lab supplies and other inventory on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Provide internal support for Accounts Payable by coding and approving invoices within internal company systems as needed. Backup customer service support, including reviewing and placing customer orders, communicating orders to manufacturing and production sites, following-up on production statuses, and updating customers accordingly. Support other areas and departments from an administrative perspective, including providing support for trade shows, industry memberships, and internal shared email addresses.
Key Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field.
Bachelor's Degree in similar field preferred. 3+ years of administrative and purchasing/procurement experience, with preference given to candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment or related chemical industry. My client is one of the most recognised and successful law firms in the UK, with over 30 years experience and has seven offices across the UK.
They are now looking to expand further into their Manchester office and are looking for legal advisors to manage a caseload of Fast Track RTA cases through all stages of the investigation and litigation process.
To deliver robust quality claims handling, with a key focus on client outcomes, to generate fee income and to contribute to the general success of the business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for a high volume caseload of Fast Track Personal Injury RTA claims, making use of the firms Case Management Systems and using the agreed internal procedures and practices.
- To progress your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations.
- To deal with cases with denial of liability and causation arguments with minimal supervision.
- To be able to assess liability and quantum to include reviewing medical reports, researching and obtaining relevant case law, drafting schedules of special damages and assessing suitable awards for compensation.
- To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate and to do so expeditiously.
- Take a practical but commercial approach to settlements and advising clients as to litigation/cost risks.
- To achieve and exceed various targets set in relation to, for example, profit costs and issuing, without compromising the firms integrity.
- To liaise appropriately and timely with sources, medical agencies, experts, third party insurers and other relevant parties to ensure that cases are pro-actively progressed.
- To attend, where appropriate, court hearings to make representations in respect of the claim before the judiciary.
Where necessary, and in accordance with the firms internal policies and procedures, to instruct Barristers to represent clients at hearings and obtain formal Advice over issues of quantum and liability.
- Perform to a high level in a target orientated environment.
- To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.
Experience and Knowledge
- Substantial experience of managing your own caseload of Fast Track RTA litigated claims.
- Excellent litigator with strong drafting skills and the ability to negotiate appropriate settlements at the optimum time.
- A solid working knowledge of the CPR, legislation and relevant case law
- Competent working with a case management system and good knowledge of MS Office
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Focus on delivering quality service to clients and the firm.

Typically, this person will be an experienced electrical engineer with a strong marine or offshore background, responsible for delivering electrical design and commissioning activities from concept through to final handover.
They will play a key role in supporting complex projects across offshore renewables, floating wind, subsea systems, and vessel integration.
This individual should be confident operating in both office-based design phases and active offshore/on-site commissioning environments.

Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Electrical Design Engineer:
Lead and execute the complete electrical design lifecycle of marine and offshore systems, including power, control, automation, and distribution
Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including Basis of Design (BoD), Functional Design Specifications (FDS), FAT, SAT, and SIT procedures, test reports, and calculations
Design and develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, alarm lists, panel layouts, and I/O schedules tailored to marine/offshore installations
Support and carry out factory acceptance testing, onshore and offshore commissioning, and system integration testing in line with marine safety and class compliance standards
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain to prepare technical RFQs and evaluate marine-grade components (e.g., connectors, junction boxes, motors, VFDs)
Provide guidance to production and fabrication teams, resolving issues during the build phase, red-lining documentation, and creating as-built drawings
Ensure compliance with international and regional standards (e.g., IEC 60092, IEEE 45, DNVGL, ABS, Lloyd’s Register, SOLAS, IMO) Contribute to formal design reviews, risk assessments, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, and FMECA workshops
Interface with clients, offshore installation teams, and third-party contractors during project execution

Qualifications and requirements for the Marine Electrical Design Engineer:
Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronic, or Marine Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven track record in the design and commissioning of electrical systems in marine, shipbuilding, or offshore energy environments
Proficient in electrical design tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, and 3D modelling platforms
Strong working knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, VSDs, and motor control systems used in marine or subsea systems
Familiar with marine power generation, load analysis, cable routing, grounding/bonding systems, and fault current calculations
Confident interpreting and working to class society rules and offshore standards
