GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of process and facility-related equipment.
Equipment inspection includes preventative maintenance (PM) and associated documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with all safety policies (especially Cardinal Rules - e.g.
Hot Work, LOTO, Confined Space), Partner with Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager to support LEAN initiatives to eliminate unplanned production interruptions due to process equipment failure, Implement the needed preventative measures, including optimization of PM program, Ensure reliable operation of facility support processes and utilities (i.e.
HVAC, Steam Boilers, Air Compressors, Tow motors, Cooling Towers, Hot Oil Heaters), Diagnose/Troubleshoot, repair/replace and maintain facility electrical systems (e.g.
programmable logic controllers, human machine interfaces, lighting) and components (e.g.
sensors, switches, valves), Diagnose/Troubleshoot, repair/replace and maintain facility mechanical systems (e.g.
product vessels/reactors, pumps) and components (e.g.
piping, manual valves), Investigate equipment/process failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, Assist Maintenance Supervisor to arrange and coordinate contractor tasks (including equipment rental) to support facility and process maintenance/repairs, Serve, as needed, on process hazard analysis (PHA) teams/sessions
EDUCATION
High School Diploma required
EXPERIENCE
One-year certificate from college or technical school and 1-2 years' experience OR High School Diploma and 4 years' experience
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.

Support the setup of engineering programmes including auditing, constructability reviews, and optioneering studies.

Oversee the full project lifecycle — cost control, change management, delay analysis, and risk mitigation.
Manage contractor and consultant performance through structured governance, QA/QC reviews, and progress reporting.
Coordinate value engineering initiatives, ensuring efficient technical and financial outcomes.
Track submittals, RFIs, design changes, and site deliverables across disciplines (electrical, mechanical, architectural, and civil).
Monitor and report on construction progress, ensuring adherence to programme and compliance with client standards.
Ensure all relevant health, safety, and environmental standards are being followed, escalating gaps where necessary.
Close-Out / Fit-Out Stage
Coordinate the transition to fit-out and commissioning, ensuring readiness of technical documentation and testing protocols.
Support engineering teams with audits, punch lists, and close-out deliverables including as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranty packs.
Manage final acceptance, handover, and post-completion audits, ensuring all client sign-offs and authority approvals are achieved.
About You
You'll bring a blend of technical engineering insight and project management leadership, ideally gained within a data centre, critical infrastructure, or complex M&E environment.
Ideal Profile:
5+ years' experience in project management or technical delivery (consultancy, client-side, or main contractor).
Strong technical understanding of MEP systems, commissioning, and critical environment infrastructure.
Experience managing vendor interfaces, audits, and due diligence for colocation or hyperscale data centres.
Proficient in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, Aconex, or similar).
Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills.
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (Chartered status desirable).

As the Locality Manager your key responsibilities include:
Utilise authentic leadership, role modelling and inspirational skills to motivate the team to deliver excellent quality of care
Become the person in charge and responsible for the day-to-day running of the Services by the Services Managers with 24 hour responsibility for the care of the Service Users and matters arising
Manage the effective use of resources, including the financial performance of the Services, and maintain high levels of occupancy
Provide improvement, independence and choice for Service Users
To comply with all regulatory and legislative requirements at all times and in particular the CQC and for the Registration and Inspection of Nursing Homes and NMC guidelines
Promote the Equality and Diversity of Service Users living and staff working in the environment
Build the reputation of the Services
Support the development and maintain confidence in the Quality of our services with our local authority contract partners
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
Management experience gained in relevant health/social care setting
Experience of managing and organising resources, including budgetary control and effective people management
Ability to work flexibly, on occasion, to ensure 24/7 cover throughout the year
Ability to answer out of hours problems in a genuine emergency
Must have experience in managing a portfolio of residential care or nursing services
Essential to have sound knowledge of care regulations, commercial awareness with proven record of budgetary control as well as dynamic and engaging leadership style
A track record of managing multi-site adult and social care services within the sector and private providers
The successful Locality Manager will receive an excellent salary up to £75,000 per annum.
This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week on days.

Proactive and detail-focused with strong communication skills
