As a Senior CAD Engineer, you'll play a critical role in the design and development of precision-engineered components and intricate systems.
You will be taking your designs through the entire design process, from initial design, to testing, and readying the component for manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of complex mechanical components using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
Create and manage detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
Support prototype development and testing, ensuring designs meet regulatory and performance standards.

What We're Looking For

Manipulate new or existing formulations to obtain required properties through adjustment of raw materials or processing parameters that meet customer expectations and are commercially successful.
Formula finalization including data entry into Product Vision.
Preparation of supporting materials required for formula transfer to production, such as product folders and QC specifications.
Formula maintenance support through the PPDCR process. Ensure compliance to all record keeping and documentation requirements supporting laboratory activities.
Provide technical assistance to internal departments and customers. Ensure and maintain an orderly and safe working environment for all employees. Other duties as assigned.
COMPENTENCIES:
Demonstrated track record of successful commercialization formulating multiple existing platforms to support projects with some degree of uncertainty with an advanced level of judgement and decision making. Advanced knowledge of raw materials, processing and testing methods routinely used within the work steps and in the general coatings marketplace.
Advanced level of judgement and independent thinking.
REQUIRED SKILLS:

RECOMMENDED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related material science field.
Additional certification (Master's degree or a PhD) is a plus 5+ years of experience in paint or paint related field.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel will be occasionally required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is carried out in a Research and Development laboratory.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, dust, fumes and noise.
The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including (but not limited to) eye protection, ear protection, dust mask or respirator, gloves, steel toed shoes, and in the plant, a hard hat.
This position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention.

Perform testing of production batches, incoming raw materials, finished goods, and components to determine conformance to specifications. Judge as "fit for release" production batches, incoming raw materials, finished goods, and components that are in conformance to all specifications and visually acceptable. Determine and communicate batch adjustments for any batches that do not conform to requirements, utilizing batch history, adjustment guidelines, and consultation with the Senior QC Technician, Assistant Supervisor, or QC Manager. Perform validation testing during filling to insure integrity of finished goods, including labeling, packaging, and fill weights. Communicate current status of inspections to Senior Technicians, Assistant Supervisor, or QC Manager. Communicate issues with work instructions and procedures to Senior Technicians, Assistant Supervisor, or QC Manager. Document inspection results.

1-3 years of production/manufacturing/quality control experience preferred but not required.
