GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Salt Handler provides manufacturing support by performing any miscellaneous activity that keeps operators focused on running lines and maintaining quality.
This position primarily handles all salt transactions from cage to make up tanks and keeps all salt areas and equipment clean and stocked.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fill salt make up tanks with bags from caged areas, record transactions, and pump over to cure tanks.
Clean/skim salt cure tanks, including chipping salt build up off tanks and salt wipe.
Clean and maintain salt collection drums and storage areas.
Pack finished goods into appropriate containers and operate secondary equipment.
Perform off-line production operations as needed.
Hand feed raw material at extrusion line.
Perform daily assembly of packaging components as needed.
Perform daily housekeeping duties of assigned areas: sweep, mop, chip salt, skim, and maintain 5S areas.
Assist Safety Coordinator with compliance tasks as needed.
Cover breaks and lunches for operators as needed.
Perform work in a safe manner while following all safety rules.
Assist the Shift Coordinator in restocking salt cages when needed.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
No prior experience or training.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to function effectively in a team setting.
Ability to multi-task.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Determine raw materials needed. Housekeeping - Clean up work area to 5S standards, takes out trash, participate in cycle count and inventory program. The Kettle Operator is responsible for processing Tremco Sealants and/or Roofing products by carefully reading and following the process order card.
The operator is responsible for area readiness to produce which includes safety and collection and preparation of materials like pails, drums, and other chemical raw materials.
One batch is complete the operator will test for quality, adjust as needed to assure specification is met by following written standard operating procedures, and then fill product into specified packaging and palletize pails or drums.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines using control boards, Human Machine Interface (HMI computer touch screen) or semi-automatic equipment.
Draw samples of products, and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and ensure that standards are met.
Use appropriate scales or measurement devices to add materials to the kettle as specified by batch process orders.
Must be able to read and understand recording instruments, pressure gauges, scales, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators to verify the conformity of process conditions.
Monitor control settings and make necessary adjustments on equipment.
Accurately record production and downtime via written documentation.
EXPERIENCE: No prior experience is required.

Follows batch work instructions in order to manufacture quality products. Prepares disperser and letdown tank for production, including any necessary equipment clean up. Monitors and controls high-speed disperser, mixer, pumps, flow meters and other instruments in order to make sure that a batch is produced according to work instructions. Adjust a batch, under QC guidance, until it is approved. Get batch tickets from floor supervisor and discuss with floor supervisor the best order.
Determine raw materials needed. Housekeeping - Clean up work area to 5S standards, takes out trash, participate in cycle count and inventory program. May assist in other departments such as filling, and material handling or help make sample batches Ensure work area is safe, clean and free of recognizable hazards, communicating all spills or other hazards to the shift supervisor Responsible for Dust collector cleanouts when required. Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: East London Salary: £60,000 Hours: 42 hours per week - 4 on 4 off (alternating days and nights) Shifts: 1 week of days followed by 1 week of nights
The role of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer is a varied and challenging one.
Working shifts, you will be expected to identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives alongside proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and site services associated with a client of ours in the food industry.
Responsibilities of this Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role
Diagnose and resolve automation, electrical, and mechanical issues during breakdowns.
Implement our engineering strategy with consistency and efficiency.
Deliver improvement projects on time and within budget.
Support site performance by focusing on KPIs such as OEE and CCOs.
Maintain high standards of safe working practices.
Provide training and coaching to operators and other engineers.
Undertake additional activities as required, supporting the overall function of the site.
Skills required of this Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
A candidate with effective communication skills.

Indentured time served apprentice with an Electrical bias, supported by suitable experience.
