Looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Development Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of sensor-based products.
You will be responsible for delivering cost-effective, manufacturable designs that meet both customer and internal specifications.
This role involves full product lifecycle management — from initial concept and prototyping through to documentation, supplier engagement, and supporting production teams.
Key responsibilities for the Mechanical Development Engineer based in Northants:
Lead mechanical design and product development activities, collaborating closely with electronics engineers.
Produce and test prototypes as required.
Create and manage technical documentation including BOMs, drawings, datasheets, FMEAs, technical files, and compliance documents.
Manage projects to agreed timescales, budgets, and specifications.
Maintain technical ownership of designs throughout the lifecycle, supporting production and customer delivery.
Apply design-for-manufacture and cost-control principles without compromising on quality.
Liaise with external suppliers and identify new supply partners when necessary.
Support the design or sourcing of bespoke tooling for assembly processes.
Produce clear assembly instructions for production teams.
Set up parts within ERP systems.
Ensure compliance with ISO requirements and internal processes.
Key skills required for the Mechanical Development Engineer based in Northants:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Extensive experience in a mechanical design or engineering development environment.
Proven track record of delivering products from concept through to market launch.
Experience in prototyping, testing, and validation.
Proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
Knowledge of injection moulding, CNC machining, and sheet metal design.
Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office/365/Teams, ERP systems).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
Strong attention to detail with a “right first time” approach.
Ability to work at pace and take initiative when faced with design challenges.

The Position
This is a full-time permanent position based at our customers distribution centre in Larne
Rate of pay: £25,389 per annum
Weekly hours: 37.5 hours plus daily 30-min unpaid break
Shift patterns: 5 days out of 7, 8-hour shifts between 06:00-14:00 & 14:00-22:00
Working Environment: Mixed
You will be required to:
Manage stock accuracy levels within the depot and stock loaded into trailers against drivers' paperwork and check the accuracy of incoming deliveries.
Delivery Checker's will be confident in their ability to add and subtract without the use of a calculator
Able to actively respond to both verbal instructions and audible warning devices
The ability to communicate well, both written and verbally
Ensure your own and the team's KPI's are met
Perform and document weekly supervision with each team member
Monitor audit data to provide performance feedback to each team member regarding
output and error rates
Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Must be aged 18 years and over

The Role of the Regional Sales Manager
The main element of the role as the new Regional Sales Manager is to promote and sell the blood glucose monitor, downloadable software and the pen needles and manage a team of reps that cover the East of the country.
The team sell into GP's Surgeries, Meds Management and Hospitals.
Assist the National Sales Manager with the establishment of sales objectives through forecasting and the development of sales quotas for the region and individual territories.
Liaise with appropriate CCG stakeholder contacts including commissioning and medicines management to identify new formulary guidance inclusion opportunities and general business development.
Management of regional sales-force to include hiring, training, performance assessment, scheduling, professional development and ensuring that all employment law requirements are met in respect of the regional sales team.
Assist regional sales team to build competitive immunity at each assigned account by thoroughly understanding all aspects of the account and creating multi-level relationships within the account, both vertically and horizontally.
Provide cover for territories that are temporarily not covered by a sales team member.
Develop a working knowledge of the inter-relationship and work to gain recommendations along every link of the chain.

The Ideal Person for the Regional Sales Manager
Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in biomedical or biological sciences (or similar).
Minimum of five years customer-facing sales experience in diabetes products and services, preferably blood glucose monitoring.
Ability to motivate sales personnel to achieve targets.
Ability to mentor new sales team members as required.
Ability to write persuasive communications which can be supported by research or authoritative sources.
Ability to effectively present and support sales initiatives and to present original thoughts and concepts to large groups.
Also skilled at making one on one and over the desk presentations to buyers, category managers and executive level contacts.
Ability to present and detail professionally to healthcare professionals.
Ability to interpret and present an extensive variety of technical arguments.
Ability to use personal computer software to analyse, organise or interpret alpha and numeric data.
This may include creating word processing correspondence and utilising basic spreadsheet functions, along with PowerPoint presentation skills and database usage.
Ability to work to strategic plans.
Sound organisational and planning skills as well as the ability to set priorities with multiple reports.
Supplemental Qualifications.
Previous experience of managing a sales team is preferable.
