Lead and manage the daily running of the assigned nursery room.Organise staff rotas and ensure adequate room coverage.Act as a positive role model for best practice in early years care and education.Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework (or local equivalent) effectively.Promote children’s independence, curiosity, and well-beingDelegate tasks effectively and ensure staff are clear on their responsibilities.Ensure the safety and welfare of all children at all times.Maintain accurate records, including accident/incident forms and medication logs.Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children’s progress.Promote an inclusive and respectful culture, celebrating diversity.Maintain up-to-date records of children’s learning and development.Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory and inspection requirements (e.g., Ofsted or equivalent).Support with planning, monitoring, and evaluating room activities and routines.Ensure children’s individual needs are met through tailored planning, observation, and assessment.Support children with additional needs in partnership with SENCO and external agencies.Work collaboratively with colleagues and management to ensure consistency across the nursery.
Supervise, support, and mentor practitioners and apprentices within the room.
