Our client are currently seeking an Assistant Buyer to join our high performing Procurement team.

REPORTING TO: Group Procurement Manager
Purpose of Role
To assist in the co-ordination of the sourcing of plant and materials purchased directly by company and to support the Purchasing Department in his role.
Responsibilities
Materials Procurement
Promptly place orders with suppliers & ensure Project Managers & QSs are kept up to date on delivery.
Obtain best prices from suppliers for items needed, obtaining a minimum of 3 quotations for bespoke materials
Monitor project staff compliance with the Materials Procurement Policy
Assist with the invoice and credit note process and maintain good communication with Suppliers and Accounts department
Maintain accurate file & email storage to ensure proper and timely payment of invoices.
Safety Health & Environmental
Ensure that all materials & equipment purchased by the company comply with the relevant safety standards.
Ensure Material Safety Data Sheets are obtained where required; where appropriate, seek advice from the Safety Manager regarding health & safety or environmental implications of materials and equipment purchased.
Other
Maintain the Warehouse & Stores areas (assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries, driving the forklift, keeping such areas clean and tidy)
Assist Estimating Department on pricing as required.
Ensure the movement of materials and plant to and from the Warehouse is properly accounted for.
Assist the Travel Co-Ordinator with booking flights and accommodation when needed.
Provide support to project sites as and when required.
Assist HR Team by facilitating procurement inductions to new hires.
Any other related responsibilities.

2 years' experience (preferably within the construction industry with a main contractor or from a builders merchant background)
Must have a full driving license

A client within the Public Sector based in Nottinghamshire is currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager to join their team as soon as possible.
The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within.
The Role
Key purpose of the role lead on and have responsibility for matters regarding property compliance and safety in both a strategic and operational capacity within the Housing Directorate
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
ensure that the service complies with its statutory duties, regulatory and other obligations and best practice in relation to compliance safety; including gas servicing, legionella, electrical, asbestos, fire safety, other asset related issues and that business operations are carried out safely and are consistently compliant.
ensure effective, robust and accurate record keeping and reporting in relation to compliance safety across the business, including relevant plant and servicing records
lead on the implementation and ongoing delivery of a comprehensive governance and performance monitoring framework for compliance safety, including an appropriate risk management framework and audit plan.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require a degree in a Property or Construction related field and/or a professional qualification e.g.
MCIOB., or the willingness to acquire.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Significant experience in leading compliance related works within a social housing environment, at scale and which consistently meets targets
Proven experience of management and successful delivery of a diverse range of property related contracts directly and through a staff team.
Significant budget management, setting and control experience
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £27 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.

Are you a Quantity Surveyor who has experience of working on residential properties? Are you available at short notice
My client are an expanding developer whom due to expansion require further support within the Commercial Department,
They are looking to recruit a freelance Quantity Surveyor with the possibility to go perm
They are looking for somebody who can come in and ideally hit the ground running so people with no experience will not be suitable.
The ideal candidate will have over 4 years experience in construction and know how to work on a project from inception to completion.
So somebody who can get involved at the tender, price it, appoint sub-contractors and then manage the project until final accounts.
The successful quantity surveyor will report into the Commercial Manager and ideally look after a couple of projects, other duties will include:
Provide feasibility cost estimates, provide cost advice of alternative design solutions and offer commercial advice in the development of the design prior to appointment of sub-contractors.
Input to and develop the trade package specific procurement strategy and subsequently the production of tender documents, tender assessment and trade contractor appointment.
Deliver and/or engage with the delivery of post contract duties including payment, cost reporting and trade contract administration.
Engage with and build on existing and new sub-contractors and suppliers.
Deliver better buying, supply chain management to deliver an optimised cost & value solution.
Fulfil the lead role for closing the procurement of trade packages, including the conclusion of tender adjudication to deliver a fixed price lump sum.
Generate, challenge and deliver the principles of Value Management opportunities during design development, tendering and delivery stages of the project.
Working on site with the sub-contractors, monitoring and paying them with completed works
Working on any variations with the client and supply chain

The Role of the Plant Manager
Working as the Plant Manager, you will be based at the companies Gloucester plant.
The role is a high energy position involving many different tasks including: shovelling materials onto the production belt, cleaning the yard and site whilst managing the team and ensuring the plant runs smoothly operationally.
As well as the physical aspects of the job, there are a lot of technical responsibilities such as: batching in the control room, run by a computer system, ensuring production is running on time and managing stock levels- Full training will be provided.
The Plant Manager will be working directly with the planning office to meet customer order details.
The Plant Manager will also be maintaining quality standards within the plant including machinery, health and safety - performance standards.
The working hours are Monday-Friday 7am-5pm and Saturday 7am-12pm.
Overtime is also available.
