Residential Support Worker

Location: Broadstairs, Kent

Salary: £24,780 - £26,650 + Excellent Benefits

Full-Time, Permanent, 52 week per year

The Client:

A reputable educational firm, our client provides education for children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities within the autistic spectrum continuum.

The Role:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing support to the residential home during out-of-school hours.

Responsibilities:



* Collaborate with colleagues and professionals for child support.


* Prioritise health, well-being, and safety of children within the home.


* Enable effective communication between child / young person and parents / carers.


* Facilitate the contribution of each child / young person to household routines.


* Develop and update individual plans and support plans in collaboration with colleagues.


* Maintain compassionate and detailed records related to children/young people.


* Keep the young person at the centre during keyworker sessions and meetings.


* Carry out sleeping-in duties when required.


* Report concerns regarding safeguarding and child protection promptly to the Head of Residential Services or their deputy.


* Support young peoples learning and personal development.


* Advocate for their needs in schooling, healthcare, relationships, and social life.


* Work with all young people in the residential home.


Requirements:



* Experience working with children and young people or adults with additional educational needs.


* Ideally possess Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or must attain within 2 years of starting employment.


* Background in working with students with diagnosed difficulties (SALT, ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, etc.) (Desirable)


* Understanding of the Quality Standards.
