Digital Electrical Engineer

Holt Executive is partnered with a global leader in Space and Satellite sustainability, a dynamic and rapidly growing technology innovator who are making hugely positive contributions to the growing problem of orbital space debris.

Our partner has a requirement for a Digital Electrical Engineer to play a key role tackling the critical issue of orbital debris.



This exciting opportunity offers a hands-on role for a Digital Electrical Engineer to shape the entire lifecycle of the spacecraft's Command & Data Handling (C&DH) sub-system, from initial design to testing and deployment.

Key Responsibilities for the Digital Electrical Engineer:

- Design and develop C&DH sub-systems for our spacecraft, including:

- Review and maintain sub-system requirements.
- Define and test and verification plans.
- Help manage subsystem data and processing budgets.
- Test and prove FMECA and FDIR processes.

- Collaborate with other teams across various levels to define operational concepts, interfaces, development, and verification plans.
- Plan and conduct electrical sub-system and system-level tests, including environmental testing.
- Support UK-based Ground segment and global mission operations teams.
- Interact with partners and suppliers for C&DH equipment, supporting procurement and selection processes.

 
Key Skills & Experience required by the Digital Electrical Engineer:

- Diploma; bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience in electronic/system design of satellite C&DH systems.
- Proven experience with industry standards like CCSDS, I2C, RS422, Spacewire, etc.
- Understanding of C&DH systems in spacecraft and their electrical interfaces.
- Experience developing and conducting spacecraft avionics test plans.
- Strong grasp of system engineering and requirements management.
