Switchgear Electrical Technician - Nottingham - £37,000 + OT + Benefits - Permanent



The primary purpose of this role is to manufacture and assemble low-voltage switchgear systems to a high standard.

It involves reading and interpreting 3-phase schematic and CAD drawings.

The position requires precise wiring, system modifications, and equipment maintenance.

You'll be contributing to the delivery of advanced electrical power solutions.

Key Responsibilities:


Assemble and wire low-voltage switchgear systems to high standards of quality and accuracy.


Interpret and work from 3-phase schematic and mechanical drawings, including CAD-generated schematics.


Carry out modifications and repairs to electrical and automated systems as required.


Operate machinery, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently in line with company procedures.


Support the ongoing maintenance of workshop equipment and ensure a clean, organised work environment.


Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and maintain consistent build quality.



Requirements:


Proven experience in the assembly and wiring of LV switchgear or electrical control panels.


16th, 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671).


Confident in reading and working from 3-phase schematic and mechanical drawings.


NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or Engineering - desirable


Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools in an electrical assembly environment.


Strong communication and teamwork skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English.


High attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and quality standards.
