Are you an experienced and compassionate support professional looking to make a real impact in a school setting? A welcoming mainstream primary school in Waltham Forest is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from 8th September 2025.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, global developmental delay (GDD), and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, within a vibrant and inclusive school environment.
The role may include 1:1 support and occasional personal care.
Whether you're looking to continue your journey in education and training or gain specialist experience within SEND, this role offers meaningful, hands-on work every day.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND in the classroom
- Assisting pupils with autism, ADHD, global developmental delay, and SEMH needs
- Supporting speech, language, and communication development through structured and informal interventions
- Helping pupils with moderate learning difficulties access the curriculum
- Encouraging emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and self-esteem
- Collaborating with teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to implement EHCP targets
- Adapting lesson resources and learning environments to meet pupils' needs
- Supporting personal care routines where necessary
- Promoting an inclusive, calm, and safe learning environment for all

- Applicants must have previous experience supporting children with SEND, though it does not have to be in a school setting

- You must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
