JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior R&D Scientist with deep expertise of industrial paints and coatings to join our R&D team in the Consumer Product Goods (CPG) sector.
This role focuses on developing and optimizing industrial coating products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
This position provides leadership to internal research, product development, and cross-functional teams.
The candidate must possess demonstrated competencies and experiences in project management, documentation, and communication.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in chemistry, particularly in the formulation and application of industrial products.
Technology Competency:
The Senior R&D Scientist candidate will demonstrate and apply the following skills to their work and has a proven track record of performing this consistently. Strong understanding of Scientific Methodology.
Hypothesis driven research and problem-solving capability using experimental design, data analysis and documentation. Coating Chemistries: alkyd, epoxy, phenolic, polyurethane, polyaspartics and sil(ox)anes etc. Coating Formulation Science: Lead the design, development, and optimization of industrial coating formulations including brush, rolled and spray applications for various protective coatings including general industrial, corrosion protection, containment, tank linings and other high-performance applications (waterborne and/or solvent borne) Utilize in-depth knowledge of industrial coating applications, industrial specifications (SSPC, MPI, ISO, etc..), and professional end user requirements to develop high-performance products. Apply expert knowledge of organic chemistry and material science to troubleshoot complex formulation issues, enhance product performance, and ensure product stability and safety.
Technical Leadership:

Provide support to dealers on product knowledge, end user work, event marketing, and merchandising. Communicate opportunities, issues, trends to management and marketing. Requirements
3-5 years sales experience in roofing and complimentary products Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required. Construction experience as an installer, especially the installation of foam Roof Tile Adhesive products is not required but is a major plus. Exceptional verbal, presentation, and training skills both.
Ability to work independently with new and existing clients to overcome typical sales objections (i.e.
- price, application knowledge, etc.) Cold-calling success within a territory to both large nationwide clients as well as small businesses in the roofing industry. Working knowledge and understanding of the permitting process with NOA's and approvals. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products (i.e.
Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) Ability to work in adverse conditions, around chemicals, navigate construction sites, and climb ladders.

Serve as lead project engineer for approved capital projects with the goal of on time and on budget completion. Develop and administer a viable and visual Preventative Maintenance Program that reduces downtime and improves overall reliability of production and production supporting machinery.
Responsible for identifying capital requirements for the facility's annual capital plan and budget. Direct, review, and approve product design and changes consistent with MOC procedures.
Recruit departmental employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Analyze annual site utility expenditure and develop plan to optimize plant efficiency to reduce costs (ISO 14001).
Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
Integrate the plant PHA initiative with the appropriate capital projects. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and work with the maintenance crew to implement the needed preventative measures. Interface with leadership, operators, and maintenance to develop needed TPM programs. Support SPC, DOE's, and other Quality initiatives. Lead Engineer for the production processes. Develop facility infrastructure upgrade plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all dispenser equipment in the field. Ability to visit and evaluate a plant to order the proper dispenser equipment needed to do the job right (such as conduit for electrical, hose lengths, position of dispenser, etc.) Install the dispenser equipment and help assist the customer in matching our dispenser to their plant (such as counts, added products, etc.).
When the install is complete tech is responsible to clean up any mess that was created during the visit. Will be responsible to pick up any equipment in the field that needs to be removed, and returned to a Euclid facility.
Responsible to wash out any tanks immediately upon being returned at the Euclid Chemical plant with the guidance of the plant manager on the waste product. Willingness and ability to restore any used equipment that can be reused. Will be required to do paperwork (such as DOT Certifications, Expense Reports, Daily or Weekly Reports, etc.) The DOT Certifications will be done professionally on Euclid Letterhead and handed to the customer. May be asked to transfer safe amounts of material from location to location (such as raw materials for concrete testing, admixture, fiber, etc.). Required to order equipment and install that equipment at the designated customer location and maintain that equipment after installation. Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment when needed. Assist in state inspections where necessary. Respond to customer issues with those dispensers when needed. Assure that their truck is properly equipped with the necessary parts to fix or repair the equipment.
