JOB DESCRIPTION
Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following: Understand and manage the capacity milling operation and assist supervising the management of the process performance. Develop safety procedures to be employed by workers operating equipment or working in close proximity to on-going chemical reactions.
Troubleshoot problems with chemical manufacturing processes.
Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance or to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Conduct research to develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes.
Determine most effective arrangement of operations such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, and drying.
Perform tests and monitor performance of processes throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.
Design and plan layout of equipment.
Work with production to start up, enhance and improve all processes related to production and assist with defining SOPs. Prepare estimate of production costs and production progress reports for management.
Design measurement and control systems for chemical plants based on data collected in laboratory experiments and in pilot plant operations.
Develop processes to separate components of liquids or gases or generate electrical currents using controlled chemical processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee all quality related functions in the plant.
Participate in the development of specifications for processing, products, and materials.
Perform all required quality tests for raw materials, work in progress, and finished products. Manage all lab functions and staff, while assuring the safety and integrity of those operations and employees.
Maintain all testing equipment and ensure that it is in proper working order. Organize and maintain related files, logs, and reports. Develop quality standards/test/inspection plan for raw materials and finished product (specification, sample size and frequency) as well as a robust training process. Develop lean and sustainable saving plans and facilitate small K generation and implementation.
Lead all product compliance activities to ensure certification.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in quality related programs such as lean, ISO, six sigma, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee all quality related functions in the plant.
Participate in the development of specifications for processing, products, and materials.
Perform all required quality tests for raw materials, work in progress, and finished products. Lead all product compliance activities to ensure certification.
