Banking Solicitor

Are you ready to build your career with an international firm and work on high-value banking transactions from day one?

We're working with a leading international law firm to recruit an NQ-1 year PQE Banking Solicitor into their Leeds office.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a well-connected national banking team, work alongside highly regarded lawyers, and gain exposure to a variety of complex and high-profile matters.

What's in it for you?

  • Access to a diverse, top-tier client base including major banks, financial institutions, corporates, private equity houses, and public sector bodies.

  • Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and hybrid working.

  • Involvement in a broad spectrum of transactions - from international financings to domestic restructurings.

  • A supportive, collaborative culture with clear career progression and ongoing professional development.

The role:

Working from the Leeds office, you'll be part of both the local practice and the wider national banking team.

The variety of work is exceptional - one day you could be advising a lender on an investment property financing involving borrower groups in multiple overseas jurisdictions: the next, working with a private equity investor on the financing aspects of a corporate acquisition.

You'll also be involved in debt restructurings and advising public sector bodies on funding for residential developments.

The team handles financings, refinancings, and restructurings for clients across the UK and internationally, meaning you'll quickly develop experience in both domestic and cross-border deals.

You'll have the opportunity to support senior team members on complex matters while also managing smaller transactions with increasing autonomy.

Key responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating facility agreements, security documents, and related finance documentation.

  • Managing due diligence, condition precedent processes, and transaction logistics.

  • Liaising directly with clients, other advisors, and counterparties to progress matters.

  • Collaborating with colleagues across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions.

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of banking and finance law and market developments.

About you

  • NQ-1 year PQE with experience in banking and finance work during your training contract or post-qualification.

  • Strong technical skills, with excellent drafting ability and attention to detail.
