About the role/school

Teach Plus are recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming, 2-form entry primary school in Tower Hamlets from January.

This is a maternity cover role running until the end of the academic year.

The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good' and is known for its supportive leadership, collaborative planning structure, and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.


The successful Year 1 Teacher will be joining a friendly team that values teamwork, creativity, and a nurturing learning environment where pupils thrive both academically and personally.



Job Responsibilities

As a Year 1 Teacher, your responsibilities will include:




  • Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.




  • Working collaboratively with your parallel Year 1 Teacher to share ideas and resources.




  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and independence.




  • Assessing, monitoring, and supporting pupil progress to ensure every child achieves their potential.




  • Maintaining strong communication with parents, carers, and colleagues.




  • Upholding the school's values and contributing to wider school life.




This is an excellent opportunity for a Year 1 Teacher seeking a part-time role in a supportive and well-organised school environment.



Qualifications/Experience

To be considered for this Year 1 Teacher position, you will need:




  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)




  • Experience working as a Year 1 Teacher or within KS1




  • A passion for delivering creative, child-centred learning




  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service




  • Right to work in the UK
