Financial Controller
Job Description:
Our client, a leading global asset management firm, is seeking a Financial Controller to support them on a 3-6 month contract whilst they work through their year end process.
The role will be based in Edinburgh (hybrid working).
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant with significant financial reporting experience to collaborate across global teams, and play a pivotal role during a peak busy period.
Skills/Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience within the asset management or broader financial services sector preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Highly detail oriented with a commitment to producing accurate, timely outputs.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to embrace new challenges.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret trends and provide valuable insight.
- Excellent communication skills and credibility when engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Analytical mindset with strong IT and Excel skills; experience with financial systems advantageous.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver all board, regulatory, and group reporting outputs, ensuring high-quality analytics and clear communication to senior stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and group reporting submissions, including coordination with external auditors.
- Maintain and improve financial controls and process documentation, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across reporting activities.
- Build strong working relationships across finance and wider business units to deliver meaningful insights and promote collaboration.
