Teach Plus are currently working with a Mainstream Primary School within the Barnet area.
This school is an outstanding two form entry school, who are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This school is a happy and successful school, where children are encouraged to give their best at all times.
They recognise all pupils individual needs and all staff are promoting pupils confidence and self -esteem to support their development.
In October 2019, the school received an Outstanding Ofsted report.
All staff help pupils to deepen their understanding by learning new facts and concepts to deepen their learning over time.
For this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will be working across KS1/KS2 to support children with EHCP's (Education Health Care Plan) in the classroom and to support the class teacher with observations to ensure each child is meeting their individual needs.
You must be patient and be able to work well under pressure with challenging situations.
You will need to work well as part of a team and individually, building strong relationships with pupils.
Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant with pupils with Autism is essential for this role and the school would be able to provide on-going support and training to ensure skills and knowledge are up to date.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be required to:
Support on a one-to-one basis with a pupil with SEN - ASD
Supervise during play and meal times
Provide a caring and supportive atmosphere
Attend regular meetings
Strong behaviour management skills
The ideal candidate for an SEN Teaching Assistant role will have:
Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, working with children and young people with SEN
DBS on the update service (child work force only)
Right to work in the UK
